I was walking my dog outside my house when I found a rock, right next to it was also another similar rock, I picked these out of the ground and found that they actually fit together, they have been broken and parted.
It got me thinking about transitioning and how much of ourselves we part with… Do we become new or do we stay the same. When you think about hormones ok yes there are changes, big changes. But that is psychical, so when we start out what happens to us?
I noticed when I was starting my transition I had to change a lot! how I walked, how I talked, how I carried my shoulders. Still these changes are physical its all about the body, so our bodies change, what about our mind?
When we think about our minds, we know that they are true, they must be true to how we feel as we wouldn't think this way to start this road, would we.
I suppose having the body aligned helps ones mind to relax as you pass better (fit into society). As a trans person this is an important part of transitioning, to fit into society.
But are we changing our bodies for society or ourselves, the argument is equal, I don't want to fit into society so I choose the changes that make me more relaxed in my own skin. I feel some people have a strong force in their life that tells them what is right to be male, from birth we are forced to see gender and what each means. Female -Pink, long hair, breast, vagina, Men - Blue, short hair, pecks, penis, Is there an underlining pressure to look a certain way, of course there is, it is set from birth, so it make us think about ones true gender. what constitutes as being male or female and how many people are trying hard to be societies version of these gender types.
Parents shouldn't push gender onto kids, they are to young to fully understand, they just want to be kids…Running around, having fun, loving life. I've read many stories where people argue why a 3/4/5 year olds would transition or ask to be known as the opposite gender. I say look to yourselves, maybe count how many times you say anything describing gender, that's where it'll start. Some people might say their choice was not influenced by anyone else, this is how they feel, true it is your gender choice, but if there were no gender types would you still choose this path?
I would say through my experience that our bodies change primarily and our minds are set from birth, we just grow into them. The older we get, the wiser we get, we can understand what it all means, we panic, don't know what to do, where to start, we think the worse until it hits us….We know who we are!
Happily found and reunited with ourselves
